Overview
This rustic cottage was originally a wooden water tower for the town of Oakland. It supplied water for the steam locomotive for Maine Central Railroad. The owner's grandfather moved it to its location on McGrath Pond in 1941 and added a kitchen and a porch. This is typical of a "Maine" camp with knotty pine walls & wood floors. The stone fireplace and gas heater provide warmth for the chilly Maine evenings. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and a bath with sink, flush and shower stall. There's great fishing on McGrath Pond where brown trout, brook trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and white perch are plentiful.
